Fused Connection Unit (FCU)

A fused outlet from a mains circuit used to connect appliances directly to an electrical circuit, such as a cooker or another appliance that is permanently fixed and is not normally removable. That is, the cable is hard wired in (i.e. not a plug and socket) and contains a fuse for the appliance.
