Reactive Power

The mathematical product of current and voltage consumed by reactive loads. Examples of reactive loads include inductors and capacitors. When connected to an AC voltage, these types of loads will draw current, but since the current is 90 degrees out of phase with the applied voltage they will consume no real power in the ideal sense.
