Root Mean Square (RMS) Current

A method of measuring waveforms to give measurements. The RMS value of any periodic current is equal to the value of the direct current which, flowing through a resistance, produces the same heating effect in the resistance as the periodic current does. UK mains voltage has a peak voltage in the cycle of 340V - which equates to 240V in RMS terminology.
